Iraq is won

If Iraq wasn’t won the last time Andrew claimed (or perhaps didn’t claim) it was, those pesky insurgents surely don’t stand a chance now that Bolt the hero and his little rodent pal Timmeh are on the case.
Oh, the adventures they’ll have together!

Thats a nice peice of photoshopping. Does Bolt the Hero use his touching memento from The Great Rat (not Splinter) to defeat his dirty red enemies?

Nice work.

Is this the right wing cartoon that balances those evil leftists who made Finding Nemo?

Fuck me, Ant. That’s a pearler.

Excellent work.
Such Fisking and debunking of Bolt and Blair arguments. Such a fundamental grasp on the issues.
Why don’t people understand that the photoshopping of Bolt into a dog and calling Blair a rodent qualifies as legitimate discourse?

‘Danger & Intrigue’ is right.
‘Danger & Intrigue at a safe distance’ is more accurate…
Great work Ant.

PJ - It’s a joke based on one of Bolt’s pieces today. It’s funny. Lighten up.

What will Bolt and Blair do next? I can’t wait for their adventures. :-) Andy and Timmy go see the Olympic flame relay, Andy and Timmy visit Borders, Andy and Timmy meet a gay man.
Ant you just brought yourself a whole heap of cartooning in your spare time.
Can this cartoon be a weekly feature of the blog?

Andrew Bolt on Sunday Night Safran tonight (13/4) so I’m told.
To tune in or to tune out, that is the question.
14 April, 2008 at 1:27 pm
Any report on Bolt on Safran’s show? The thing I find interesting: Bolt had to make note of it, in the vein of ‘look, someone who’s legit wants to talk to me! I’m important!’. Sad. Pathetic.
Antway, I won’t expect much- Safran’s a softcock who goes easy on any and every body he has on. He thinks he’s being even-handed. Unfortunately it means nothing of any importance or gravity gets discussed. Father Bob is the brains, Safran is wasting his skills and potential by trying too hard to be controversial, which just comes off as whining.

Nah, I didn’t listen. I’m a bit over Safran for the reasons you mentioned, Steven Rogan.

Bolt’s declaration of victory in Iraq was clearly an intentional ironic joke.
His clear intention was to reiterate what he wrote on several occasions before he declared victory: that we in the West need to stop thinking that victory in the war on terror (as it is being fought in Iraq and Afghanistan) can be achieved in a few months or years and, like Al-Qaeda, view the conflict as a hundred year battle that can only be won (with many setbacks) very, very, very, slowly if we remain committed to the cause.
Bolt was being ironic. He was testing our commitment to the cause. A strong, tough man, he was asking us to be as mentally tough as he is.
I bet that at the same time he was declaring victory he was applauding Bush’s desire for America to remain a controlling force in Iraq for decades to come. So he knows Al-Qaeda will continue to pose a real threat to Iraq’s democracy for a long, long time.
Anyone who failed Bolt’s inspirational test is biased or slow or weak or all three. That’s the only way of looking at it.

MJhudson - did you read the linked articles that outlines how Andrew posted and withdrew the statement within hours and then retracted over time?
He was not being ironic. He was being ignorant.
“Anyone who failed Bolt’s inspirational test is biased or slow or weak or all three. That’s the only way of looking at it.” Therefore Bolt failed his own test as he withdrew the statement.

A post i have placed in Bolt’s forum for today:
Just dropping in to wish George W Bush Happy 5th Anniversary for “Mission Accomplished” in Iraq.
I wonder why we havent had any posts on Iraq for the last week or so?? hmm i wonder.. I hope I am not being a ‘lefty conspiracy theorist’

LOL - Won’t get printed. If it does by chance the hive mind will just slag you off telling you it’s old news (happened to me a couple of weeks ago). Andrew Bolt only ever prints good news stories where Iraq is concerned.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the good news stories, I want to see more of them, I subscribe to the “you broke it, you own it” school of thought. ie I utterly opposed the invasion but, believe that the tax payers of the so-called “coalition of the willing” should rightly be burdened with the security cost and whatever else it costs to make Iraq a safe place. Why do I think that? Because we (US,UK & AU) failed to kick out the pricks that launched this misadventure when we had the chance.
