I actually think some of you banter is quite funny Abu, but it’s the kind of “no you are”, effortless humour that makes you giggle a bit to start with, but just get old and annoying quickly.

The only people that are engaging in the infantile behaviour that I mentioned are recent arrivals like MarkL, who have come from mutually congratulatory group-think communities like Bolt’s site, where accusing those you disagree with as being akin to NAZI’s Stalinists etc, is common practice. The most that I have seen any regulars or ‘leftists’ here do, is draw parallels between Bolt and Hanson. Something that I think has holes in it, but is hardly any thing like accusing someone of being like Hitler.

Opposing views are frequently posted here, and there are few sites that I can think off that would give such liberty too lengthy diatribes like that from Mark L, whether in support or critique of the host’s position.

I think you should moderate. You seem a moderate fellow. My advice is: award points for cleverness and a sense of humour. Shame those who can’t hack it and resort to swearing and abuse and those who fall back on lame saws, like, “so-and-so is a Hansonite” and “Robert Manne is a great thinker”, and so on.
